Kakao on the 30th announced an online copyright course for emoticon creators and aspiring creators through the KakaoTV "Kakao emoticons" channel. The training video is offered as VOD, and anyone interested in creating emoticons can watch it for free.
The course is led by partner attorney Yang Tae-young and attorney Lee Ji-young of Doa Law Firm, helping attendees understand emoticon copyrights from basics to practice. The training addresses copyright issues based on real cases and covers key points related to frequent copyright infringement during the creation process and trademark disputes. In particular, it will offer practical response methods based on questions submitted in advance by creators.
This online copyright course has been held every year since 2020 and marks its fourth year. Kakao is helping creators accurately understand their rights and carry out stable creative activities through this course.
