Devsisters said on the 29th that its trading card game (TCG) Cookie Run: Braverse Card Game signed distribution deals for more than 50 million cards this year.
That is about a 180% increase from the number of cards distributed last year. About 1,000 card shops worldwide currently sell the Cookie Run card game.
The company emphasized that gains in North America, the largest TCG market, were particularly notable. The Cookie Run card game entered the North American market in Jul. and signed distribution deals for 35 million cards in five months.
Recently, it also successfully wrapped up its first official regional tournament, the "North America Champion Cup," at North America's flagship TCG convention, "Pro-Play Summit Orlando." In six Southeast Asian countries, it will hold a large commemorative tournament to mark the first anniversary of its launch.
A Devsisters representative said, "We will strengthen our community activation strategy next year for sustainable game operations for the Cookie Run card game," adding, "We will support the expansion of region-based communities so users can enjoy 'social play.'"
