LG Electronics said on the 28th that it released the "LG On Board" campaign video on large billboards in Times Square in New York and Piccadilly Circus in London to raise awareness of its vehicle components business.
LG On Board carries both the meaning that "LG's vehicle technology is installed in cars" and that "LG accompanies customers' driving experiences."
The campaign video intuitively shows how a variety of LG Electronics' vehicle solutions, including in-vehicle infotainment and in-cabin sensing, change customers' in-car experiences.
In the video, when the driver yawns and looks tired, a camera detects it and, with the message "You look like you need a break. There's a cafe nearby," changes the navigation route to stop by a cafe.
On the display where the navigation had been shown, the home screen of the in-vehicle webOS content platform, which offers a variety of content, appears.
It then shows a natural transition to a living room TV, emphasizing that the webOS customer experience, which powers 260 million smart TVs worldwide, has expanded into the vehicle interior.
Recently, LG Electronics has ramped up efforts to publicize its vehicle components business to the general public, including introducing key vehicle solutions in easy and entertaining animations on the social media channels of its VS Business Division, which oversees the business.
