LG Display said on the 28th it will unveil new products boasting world-first and world-best records at CES 2026, the world's largest IT and home appliance show.
Among them, the 27-inch gaming organic light-emitting diode (OLED) panel delivers a refresh rate of 720Hz, the fastest among existing gaming OLED panels. Refresh rate is the number of times the screen updates per second, and 720Hz means the screen refreshes 720 times per second.
LG Display is the first to achieve an ultra-high refresh rate of 720Hz with an OLED panel. It also delivers a response time as fast as 0.02ms—more than 150 times faster than the average response time of LCD panels—preventing afterimages or blurring at the edges.
The world's first 39-inch 5K2K gaming OLED panel will also be unveiled. This product is the only 39-inch OLED panel mass-produced in the world by LG Display, and it maximizes immersion with ultra-high resolution beyond UHD, a 21:9 aspect ratio, and a curved design.
The world's first 240Hz RGB stripe pixel-structure OLED panel not only provides excellent gaming performance with a high refresh rate, but also enables precise and sharp graphics with a pixel density of 160 ppi.
LG Display plans to apply Primary RGB Tandem 2.0, a new large-size OLED technology, to all gaming OLED panels launching in 2026.
By applying more optimized components to Primary RGB Tandem, which LG Display introduced as a world first last year, this technology achieves a peak luminance (brightness) of 1,500 nits while reproducing perfect black.
Lee Hyun-woo, head of the large display business at LG Display, said, "We are increasing competitiveness in the global market with a flawless display packed with top-tier features," and added, "In line with rising OLED monitor demand, we plan to aggressively target the OLED monitor market starting next year with world-best and world-first technologies."
