Tmap Mobility said on the 26th that it is unveiling "Tmap Pedometer."
The newly launched Tmap Pedometer provides users' step counts together with navigation data so they can grasp daily movement patterns at a glance, Tmap Mobility said. Users can check on one screen how much they walked and how much they drove in a day, and how their movement over the past week has changed.
It also offers various benefits. Users can earn Tmap points, which can be exchanged for various e-gift card items, by receiving rewards for consecutive check-ins and hitting step goals such as 1,000, 3,000, and 7,000 steps, and Tmap lottery tickets are offered that provide additional point benefits when the pedometer is used together after using navigation.
Tmap Mobility plans to further expand driving score insurance benefits by adding an automobile insurance rider based on step count data.
Jeon Chang-geun, chief product officer (CPO) at Tmap Mobility, said, "Tmap Pedometer is a service that can manage all movements at once, from driving to everyday steps, and aims to provide a more expanded mobility experience through Tmap," adding, "We plan to advance the service with insurance rider benefits through Tmap Pedometer and differentiated features linked to places going forward."
