Samsung Electronics said on the 25th that ahead of its media event "The First Look 2026," it released a series of teaser videos capturing the history of innovation in TVs and home appliances. This is the first time Samsung Electronics has unveiled teasers highlighting its product innovation history to coincide with the world's largest home appliance and IT exhibition (CES).
Samsung Electronics followed the teaser released on the 23rd announcing the event theme with an additional home appliance teaser on the 24th. The video includes early "first innovation" examples such as a 1980 air conditioner with a microcomputer chip, a 1982 multi-purpose microwave oven with a screen, and a 1985 "talking refrigerator." Samsung Electronics emphasized that, based on more than 40 years of accumulated technology, it is evolving into Bespoke AI home appliances.
Samsung Electronics said, "Samsung AI home appliances are approaching another turning point," and added, "We plan to unveil at this CES a differentiated experience that more deeply understands users' daily lives and enhances the value of life."
Earlier, on the 19th, a teaser highlighting the history of TV innovation was posted on the newsroom and YouTube. It emphasized display innovation by introducing the technological evolution from the launch of the "Econo TV" in 1975 through CRT color TVs, LCD, LED, and QLED to "Micro RGB." Samsung Electronics added that it has held the No. 1 position worldwide for the past 20 years since the early 21st century.
In the industry, since Samsung Electronics unveiled "Micro RGB" this year and raised the bar in the picture quality race, there is strong interest in what next-generation display technologies and AI-based viewing experiences it will present at "CES 2026."
Samsung Electronics will hold a presentation at 7 p.m. on Jan. 4 next year (local time), two days before the opening of CES 2026, at the Wynn Las Vegas, and kick off the official schedule for "The First Look 2026." Side events such as exhibitions and technology forums will also be held for four days through the 7th. The theme is "Your Companion to AI Living," a strategy to integrate AI into all products and services to enhance experiences across everyday spaces.
