KT said on the 24th that ahead of the official release of the Generative AI omnibus film "Code: G the beginning of attention," it held a preview and a talk with the director (GV) at CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall on the 23rd.
The preview invited more than 300 audience members aged 15 and older. Attendees included students of KT's youth AI talent program "KT Able School," university students interested in AI video production, and winners of the "KT AI Film Festival P.A.N." After watching the film, the audience asked questions about the filmmaking approach and the process of applying technology during the GV session and engaged in active discussion.
"Code: G the beginning of attention" is a Generative AI film project co-planned and invested in by KT and will open exclusively at CGV on the 27th. KT pursued this project in line with its media and content strategy, with R&D personnel within the KT media group company participating in the joint planning. KT handled the investment, and KT Studio Genie oversaw distribution. Through KT's small and venture discovery program "Biz Collaboration," the company also supported win-win cooperation with the production company.
The film weaves five independent shorts on the theme of "humanity" in an omnibus format, with directors Kim Jusin, Kim Young-gi, Kwon Han-seul and Hong Ki-seon, Song Young-yoon, and Kim Kwang-sik participating. In particular, "Memory Management Bureau" was produced in a hybrid manner that combined more than 90% AI synthesis technology with actor Lee Sun-bin's performance. The remaining four shorts built their narratives with 100% Generative AI without traditional actor shoots.
KT expects the film to demonstrate the commercial potential of a 100% Generative AI movie and plans to continue further discussions based on audience reactions and market data after the release.
Kim Chae-hee, head of KT's media division (executive vice president), said, "As an AICT-based media company, KT will discover emerging AI creators and activate the media creation ecosystem by connecting through to commercial release."
