Maple Idle, developed by Nexon and domestic game company Able Games, ranked No. 1 in global revenue this year among new idle role-playing game (RPG) titles.
According to global app market analytics site Sensor Tower on the 24th, Maple Idle reached 3 million cumulative downloads and $100 million (about 140 billion won) in revenue in about 45 days after launch. By country and region, Korea accounted for the largest share of downloads at 37.8%, followed by ▲ the United States (16.9%) ▲ Taiwan (10.5%) ▲ Thailand (7.1%) ▲ Malaysia (5.7%) ▲ Brazil (5.4%). By revenue share, Korea made up 67%, or about two-thirds of the total, followed by the United States (16.6%) and Taiwan (7.1%).
Accordingly, Maple Idle ranked No. 2 worldwide in idle RPG revenue on the strength of just its first 45 days of sales, following Capybara Go! by Habby.
Sensor Tower said, "Building on Korea, it also posted meaningful results in high-spending markets such as the United States," and noted, "This shows it served as an opportunity to once again highlight the revenue scale and presence of the Korean idle RPG market beyond the success of a single game."
