S-1 said on the 22nd that it has partnered with Samsung Electronics to launch the intelligent residential security product "Samsung AI Doorcam," which supports everything from detecting lost parcels to verifying visitors and dispatching emergency responders.
Samsung AI Doorcam is a residential security solution that combines S-1's dispatch infrastructure and AI video analysis technology with Samsung Electronics' smart home platform. Its key features include responses to parcel loss and theft, 24-hour emergency dispatch service, security based on domestic manufacturing, and enhanced convenience through appliance integration.
Behind the rising demand for residential security is the spread of contactless consumption. According to the Korea Consumer Agency (KCA), of the 1,149 applications for parcel-related dispute mediation received over the past three years, "loss" accounted for the largest share at 37.1%. The analysis is that parcels left at the door are becoming routine crime targets.
Samsung AI Doorcam addresses this issue with an upper-and-lower dual-camera design. The upper camera records a visitor's face, while the lower camera captures parcels placed on the floor. Parcel images recognized by the lower camera are sent to a cloud AI analysis server, which automatically detects arrival and loss and provides alerts.
Capabilities to respond to violent crimes were also strengthened. According to 2024 crime statistics from the Korean National Police Agency, about 26% of violent crimes such as murder, robbery, and rape occurred in residences. Samsung AI Doorcam provides a 24-hour emergency dispatch service with a separate paid subscription. In an emergency, nearby S-1 dispatch personnel go to the site to check the situation and take action.
A paid peace-of-mind compensation service is also offered. Parcel loss and device loss are covered up to 500,000 won each, theft damage within dwellings up to 15 million won, and fire damage up to 50 million won.
Security reliability was also emphasized. With a series of hacking and video leakage cases involving overseas-made IoT devices, demand is rising for verified domestic products. Samsung AI Doorcam is manufactured domestically and has passed Samsung Electronics' security standards, and it allows users to mask neighbors' entrances or common areas through a privacy masking function.
Its smart home integration also stands out. When a visitor presses the doorbell, linked appliances such as smart TVs or refrigerators can display live video, and two-way voice calls via a smartphone app are supported.
Samsung AI Doorcam is sold through Samsung.com, Samsung Stores nationwide, and major open markets, and the two companies plan to continue expanding distribution channels.
An S-1 official said, "With parcel losses and rising crime in residential areas, demand for practical security for dwellings is growing," adding, "Through collaboration with Samsung Electronics, we have created an environment where security services are naturally connected with everyday appliances."
