GoodGang Labs, an artificial intelligence (AI) avatar startup, said on the 18th it will launch Kemix, a service on Coinbase's Base app that lets users talk with an AI anime character by voice.
Kemix is a service where, when a user speaks to an anime-style character, the character instantly responds with voice, facial expressions, lip-sync, and gestures. The key is not merely reading out a text reply, but providing an experience like conversing with a living character.
Interest in anime and virtual characters has been spreading rapidly worldwide. According to global market research firm Precedence Research, the AI avatar market is expected to grow more than 30% annually. AI services that enable interaction with characters are drawing attention as a new user experience.
Ahn Du-gyeong, CEO of GoodGang Labs, said, "People are beginning to see anime characters not just as something to watch, but as beings they can talk to and build relationships with," and added, "Kemix is a service designed so anyone can naturally enjoy the experience of actually talking and bonding with the anime characters they like."
