LG CNS said on the 18th that it will develop an agentic AI-based solution that lets AI lead the entire IT system development process—from analyzing client requirements to quality diagnosis—by partnering with the U.S. AI coding agent developer Cline.
LG CNS signed a joint development agreement (JDA) for next-generation agentic AI-based solutions with Cline at its headquarters in LG Science Park in Magok, Seoul. The signing was attended by President Hyun Shin-Gyoon of LG CNS and Cline CEO Saoud Rizwan, among other key executives from both companies.
Under the agreement, the two companies will jointly develop an agentic AI-based solution, Cline Spec Driven For Enterprise, by combining Cline's coding agent with LG CNS's in-house AI coding technology, DevOn AI Native Development. The key is to go beyond a simple auxiliary tool and expand the role into an "autonomous developer" in which AI makes its own judgments and performs the entire development process.
Cline's coding agent is offered as open source. Because all components are disclosed, it can be flexibly applied to corporate environments, and code designed for internal systems is not leaked externally. It is noted for strong security because it does not use corporate data for training, and it is not dependent on any specific AI model or cloud.
Based on these characteristics, Cline's coding agent has drawn attention as one of the fastest-growing AI software worldwide, posting a 4,704% growth rate recently on GitHub, a global open-source development platform.
LG CNS adds its development experience and know-how accumulated across various industries. LG CNS is currently building a Knowledge Foundation that turns know-how accumulated during client projects into data that AI can use. After analyzing client requirements, AI finds the necessary technologies and information in the Knowledge Foundation and performs the entire process from system design and coding to testing and quality diagnosis.
Development of fraud detection system (FDS) for the financial sector is a representative application case. AI analyzes client requirements such as fraud types and reporting procedures, produces a design plan, writes source code, and then automatically generates and verifies hundreds of test cases. Developers can focus on quality review and decision-making on the outputs generated by AI.
LG CNS plans to first apply the solution to internal projects to verify performance and stability, and then expand it to external business. It highlights as differentiators that it is an agentic AI coding solution that combines accumulated industry-specific know-how and globally proven technology, and that it can be used on premises without concern over internal data leakage.
