Global design platform Canva said on the 18th that its analysis of year-end design trends over the past three years found a surge in designs related to Christmas and year-end gift wish lists.
According to Canva, since early 2022 more than 3.35 million Christmas wish list designs have been created worldwide through Canva. Among them, the number of designs featuring year-end gift wish lists increased 37% last year from the previous year, showing steady growth.
In particular, the number of presentation-style wish lists jumped 61% in the same period, with a total of 1.4 million wish lists created in a "presentation" format. Canva said this shows users are actively adopting a visually driven approach—using photos, animation and infographics—rather than simply listing year-end wishes in text.
Kailyn Nunn, Canva global influencer lead, said, "Usage of Canva's wish list templates tends to surge in November and December every year, and last year hit an all-time high," adding, "With presentation-style wish lists already up 61% from the previous year, we expect even stronger growth this year."
Nunn said, "Wish lists that used to be handwritten or cut out from catalogs have now become presentations," adding, "This shows that all everyday communication methods are becoming visualized, such as children requesting Christmas gifts in a 'presentation' format or making year-end family plans as presentations."
