Samsung Electronics said on the 15th that subscribers to its rechargeable easy payment service, "Samsung Wallet Money·Points," surpassed 1 million just two months after launch.
"Samsung Wallet Money" is a service that allows mobile payments without a physical card, and users can make payments by linking an existing bank account. "Samsung Wallet Points" is a rewards service that is automatically accumulated at the time of payment, and the accumulated points can be used like cash.
Samsung Electronics said strong consumer response stemmed from being able to handle everything—from payment and recharge to earning and using points—through the single Samsung Wallet app.
Samsung Electronics also said that starting today it will run a promotion that credits up to 10% of the payment amount in points for customers who pay with Samsung Wallet Money·Points, along with instant-win reward events such as an in-app roulette game.
Chae Won-cheol, head of the Digital Wallet Team in the MX Business Division at Samsung Electronics (executive vice president), said, "We will expand the Samsung Wallet ecosystem through various benefits and continuously enhance customer value."
