Intelligent power and sensing semiconductor corporations onsemi said it is expanding its strategic cooperation with auto parts supplier FORVIA HELLA and will supply PowerTrench T10 MOSFET technology across HELLA's advanced automotive platforms. Through this agreement, the two companies will strengthen collaboration on power solutions over the next 10 years as the auto industry undergoes transition.
onsemi's PowerTrench T10 MOSFET features ultra-low resistance and low switching loss to deliver high power density even in small footprints. By applying a shield gate–based power trench structure, it reduces output capacitance and improves the figure of merit (FOM), enhancing efficiency and reliability in automotive electronic environments. FORVIA HELLA plans to use the technology to offer power solutions with expense competitiveness for a range of automotive applications.
Sven Hönicke, vice president of purchasing at FORVIA HELLA, said, "onsemi's next-generation MOSFETs are a core element of our automotive platforms," and added, "They will play an important role in meeting the demands of electrified and increasingly sophisticated vehicle systems." Simon Keeton, president of onsemi's Power Solutions Group, also said, "Building on a 25-year partnership, we will deliver next-generation power solutions needed for the era of electrification and software-defined vehicles."
As vehicle electrification and demand grow for high-performance, high-efficiency power systems, the cooperation shows that the importance of Power Semiconductor is increasing in next-generation automotive architectures.
