The Korea Electronics Association (KEA) held the "smart innovative home appliances commendation ceremony" at the Electronics Hall in Sangam-dong, Seoul, on the 11th and presented Minister citations from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy to a total of nine honorees.
Hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and organized by KEA, the ceremony was arranged to highlight the contributions of people who have advanced the smart innovative home appliances sector. KEA said, "We held this event to encourage honorees who achieved results in three key areas—artificial intelligence (AI)-based service innovation, convergence of healthcare and home appliances, and pioneering new global markets—and to secure qualitative growth and diversity in the domestic home appliance ecosystem."
Jeong Jin-gyu, a senior executive at Coway, was recognized for serving as a key figure in successfully building and commercializing the industry's first Internet of Things (IoT) and AI platform. By applying AI-powered predictive services to product maintenance and customer service, he delivered results. Baek Geun-young, a Director General at CERAGEM Co., received a citation for successfully leading the technology development and commercialization of flagship products such as the Master and Pause series. Han Yo-han, CEO of Dimillion, developed Korea's first 360° full-body scan healthcare solution.
KEA Vice Chairman Park Jae-young said, "The growth of smart innovative home appliance corporations and the expansion of their exports are crucial factors that will determine the future of the domestic home appliance industry," adding, "We will spare no comprehensive support so corporations can take the lead in cutting-edge technology competition, including On-device AI and data utilization."
