DeepX, an ultra-low-power On-device AI Semiconductor corporations, has formed an EMEA partnership with Avnet Silica, the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) division of global semiconductor solutions company Avnet and Europe's largest distributor of embedded and AI semiconductors. Through this collaboration, DeepX will begin in earnest to expand its Edge AI semiconductor supply chain and technical support system across Europe.
Avnet Silica is the semiconductor-focused division of Avnet, a Nasdaq-listed Fortune 500 corporations, with a global distribution network and system design support capabilities spanning more than 140 countries. In Europe, it is known to have worked with major semiconductor corporations in industrial automation, automotive and smart manufacturing.
Across Europe's industrial sites—from manufacturing and logistics to Robotics and Smart City—demand is rising for Edge AI that meets real-time AI processing and energy efficiency at the same time. Given the region's high energy expense, ultra-low power, low heat generation and high stability have become core requirements. Avnet Silica assessed that DeepX's ultra-low-power NPU technology fits the Europe-style Edge AI architecture amid these market shifts.
The DeepX NPU delivers more than 20 times the power efficiency of a GPU at the same performance level and features a scalable architecture from small IoT devices to industrial servers. In benchmarks Avnet Silica conducted with European clients, DeepX's DX-M1 recorded 2.93 ms latency and 652 frames per second (FPS) in a single-stream test. In a multi-stream environment, throughput per watt (FPS/W) was 356, showing higher efficiency than competing products, the company said. It also operated without performance degradation in industrial environments from –25°C to 85°C.
Citing this performance, efficiency and stability, Avnet Silica selected DeepX as a strategic partner and plans to expand the supply of solutions based on DeepX NPUs for industrial automation, Robotics, mobility and Smart City projects in Europe.
A DeepX representative said, "Europe is a region where the transition to On-device AI is progressing quickly, and Avnet Silica's supply chain and technical support will accelerate the spread of DeepX's technology."
The two companies plan to secure early adoption cases focused on key European industries such as manufacturing, logistics and urban infrastructure, and to widen contact with clients through joint technical seminars and road shows.
