Samsung Electronics will begin the beta program for "One UI 8.5" on the 8th. This update is based on the existing One UI 8 and is characterized by significantly enhanced AI features and cross-device connectivity.
The beta program will roll out sequentially for Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra users in six countries, including Korea, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Poland, and India. Users can apply through the Samsung Members app.
"One UI 8.5" greatly improves content creation and sharing features. The AI-based image editing feature "Photo Assist" helps make image editing more intuitive and continuous. In addition, the "Quick Share" feature has been strengthened to link portrait photos with contact information for easier sharing.
Cross-device connectivity has also been strengthened. With the "audio broadcast" feature, users can use a Galaxy phone to stream voice in real time to nearby audio devices, and the "shared storage" feature makes file syncing with other Galaxy devices more convenient.
In addition, the "stolen device protection" feature has been enhanced, adding an "authentication failure lock" that automatically locks the phone in case of theft or loss.
"One UI 8.5" will be installed on the Galaxy S series to be released in the first half of next year and will then be applied sequentially to existing Galaxy devices.
