As Apple continues to see key executives depart, Senior Vice President Johny Srouji, who leads the semiconductor institutional sector, said directly that he has no plans to leave the company for the time being.
On the 8th (local time), Bloomberg reported that Srouji said in a memo to employees that day, "I've heard various rumors about my future at Apple, but I felt I should address them directly," adding, "I love my team, and I love my work at Apple." He added, "I have no plans to leave the company for the time being."
Earlier, Bloomberg reported that Srouji had expressed his intention to resign to Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook, and that the possibility of moving to another technology corporations was also raised. Cook was said to have offered a substantial compensation package and a larger role to keep him.
After joining Apple in 2008, Srouji led the company's in-house chip strategy represented by the "M series," driving the transition to Apple silicon. The industry views him as the key figure who enabled Apple's hardware innovation.
Meanwhile, Apple has recently seen a string of top executives depart. Jeff Williams, the chief operating officer (COO) who had been mentioned as Cook's successor, left the company in Aug., and Senior Vice President John Giannandrea, who oversaw the artificial intelligence (AI) institutional sector, and Vice President for legal affairs Kate Adams are also stepping down. Alan Dye, who handled user interface design, is said to have moved to Meta.
Amid this series of personnel changes, some speculate that CEO Tim Cook is preparing to retire.
