Raonsecure's subsidiary "Raonmeta" has applied Extended Reality (XR) technology to an education practicum setting for the first time.
Raonmeta, a Metaverse platform company specializing in generative artificial intelligence (AI), said on the 8th that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee of Pusan National University for cooperation on an animal experiment practicum program.
The experimental animal autopsy practicum content of "Raon Metademy" is designed to reproduce an actual laboratory environment in virtual space so trainees can experience the entire process—from practicum preparation to autopsy and carcass disposal—through a virtual rat without sacrificing a real animal. The company said this will significantly reduce the stress and anxiety of taking life and the trial and error that novice trainees may experience when handling live tissue directly, while also greatly improving difficulties caused by a lack of practicum space and equipment.
Raonmeta plans to use this collaboration as a springboard to expand the supply of XR-based practicum content to various education, medical, and research institutions, and to build a virtual practicum ecosystem with strengthened standardization, safety, and accessibility.
Park Jong-won, head of management at Raonmeta, said, "The immediate application of the technology to the education field right after patent registration in Korea and the United States is an important case that proves both the need for XR-based practicums and their commercialization competitiveness," adding, "We will continue to actively participate in solving social problems through technology by advancing XR technology and entering global markets."
