Koh Young Technology (Koh Young) will unveil its brain surgery medical robot "Geniant Cranial" on the international stage.
Koh Young said on the 5th that it will take part in AES 2025, the world's largest epilepsy conference. The event runs in Atlanta through the 9th. AES is an international conference where medical staff and experts gather to advance the diagnosis, treatment, and research of intractable epilepsy worldwide. Geniant Cranial is a medical robot that can be used for stereo-electroencephalography (sEEG), which detects seizure onset zones in surgery for intractable epilepsy. It is used not only for epilepsy but also in various complex brain surgery fields such as Parkinson's disease and brain tissue biopsy. At this exhibition, Koh Young will give hands-on demonstrations of Geniant Cranial's core technologies and actual operation to neurosurgeons and neurologists in the United States.
Koh Young is also presenting Geniant Cranial at the Joint Pediatric Section Annual Meeting, which opened on the 4th and runs through the 7th in Memphis, Tennessee.
Koh Yu-ri, head of Koh Young Medical Solutions, said, "Since receiving U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance, discussions with major hospitals have been gaining momentum, accelerating the spread of medical robots in the U.S. market," and added, "Approval from Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare is in the final stages, so full-fledged expansion in major global markets such as the United States and Japan will proceed simultaneously."
