HANCOM said on the 4th that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Korea Mine Rehabilitation and Mineral Resources Corporation (KOMIR) for cooperation on artificial intelligence (AI) and data technologies.
The agreement aims to accelerate the introduction of Generative AI within KOMIR and establish a framework for digital, innovation-driven operations. The two sides will identify AI use models optimized for public administrative work and cooperate to validate actual work efficiency.
HANCOM will pilot its AI document authoring tool "Hancom Assistant" and its AI-based question-and-answer solution "Hancompedia" at KOMIR, and KOMIR will use them in real work to verify their functions and performance. Based on feedback, HANCOM will pursue technology advancement tailored to the public-sector work environment.
The two sides also agreed to cooperate on technology collaboration in AI and data, support for businesses related to Generative AI, and the identification of regulatory improvement tasks. The agreement is intended to address technical and institutional barriers that may arise in the process of introducing AI at public institutions.
Jang Seung-hyun, head of HANCOM's AI Business Division, said, "This agreement will serve as a catalyst for HANCOM's AI technology to drive innovation in public-sector operations," adding, "We will combine our accumulated document data-based technologies with AI to support KOMIR's digital transformation and expand the AI ecosystem in the public domain."
