NCSOFT said on the 2nd that its own MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role-playing game) "AION2" was selected as the 2025 "Game of G-STAR," chosen by the Korea Game Media Association and the Korea Game Journalists Club.
"Game of G-STAR" is selected by comprehensively evaluating game completeness, artistry, and innovation among G-STAR entries, and the winners are decided by votes from game reporters belonging to the Korea Game Journalists Club. The awards ceremony was held on Dec. 1 at the NCSOFT R&D Center in Pangyo.
AION2 is a new MMORPG that began service in Korea and Taiwan on Nov. 19, recording 1.5 million daily active users (DAU) two days after launch, and surpassing 2.53 million accumulated created characters a week later.
AION2 development PD Kim Nam-joon said, "Thanks to the interest from many users who supported AION2, we were able to win the award, and we will continue to develop the game by reflecting user feedback."
Lee Taek-soo, president of the Korea Game Media Association, said, "Since the official launch, it has been receiving a positive response from users, and we expect this award to serve as an opportunity to carry the good momentum forward."
