MIRACOM I&C said on the 1st it has named Vice President An Dae-jung, head of the digital factory unit at Samsung SDS, as its new CEO.
An, the new chief, is an expert in smart factories. Earning a Ph.D. in industrial engineering from Korea University, An joined Samsung Electronics in 1991, led the introduction of MES solutions, and, after joining Samsung SDS in 2012, played a pivotal role in boosting manufacturing competitiveness through manufacturing automation and quality innovation.
At Samsung SDS, An served as head of the MES solution group, Head of Team of PLM, Head of Team of Smart Factory Team 2, Head of Team of Platform, and executive in charge of the intelligence platform unit, and since December 2021 has served as vice president overseeing the digital factory unit, contributing to the smartification of Korea's manufacturing industry.
This personnel move is the first CEO change in about three years. Former CEO Kang Seok-rip, who took office as MIRACOM I&C's chief in 2023, led the strengthening and growth of the company's smart factory business institutional sector for about three years.
Going forward, An, as the new head of MIRACOM I&C, plans to focus on enhancing competitiveness by strengthening the smart factory and IT services businesses. In particular, under new leadership, MIRACOM I&C is expected to accelerate its manufacturing AX (AI transformation) business. At its own event, "MIRACOM Solution Fair 2025 (MSF 2025)," held on the 9th, MIRACOM I&C unveiled "NEXPIRE AI," an AI platform specialized for manufacturing, drawing industry attention.
An said, "We will further solidify the company's direction and future vision to grow MIRACOM I&C into a unique player in the smart factory and IT services business fields."
