NC AI said on the 1st that it will launch the 3D generation service "Varco 3D."
Varco 3D offers a practical solution to chronic problems in the 3D asset (development material) production process. It cuts production time, which used to take more than four weeks, to within three minutes, and it also reduced the expense to about 500 won per 3D asset. The company said this lays the groundwork for anyone to easily access 3D content creation by minimizing repetitive, time-consuming tasks and quickly generating results.
Varco 3D achieved a breakthrough in productivity through an end-to-end solution that integrally automates the entire 3D asset production process. Users can complete every step—from conceiving 2D concept art to generating 3D modeling, directing animations, and play—within the single Varco 3D environment.
AI automatically generates the entire process, from creating the mesh that forms the skeleton, the core of 3D production, to applying lifelike textures with PBR textures, rigging that assigns joints for natural movement, and motion retargeting that applies specific actions to new characters.
Beyond simple generation, it also provides features to finely edit and control the results. While keeping specific areas of the generated mesh, users can add or delete objects, and freely adjust polygon counts and topology. By applying various PBR textures, assets in multiple moods and styles can be used immediately.
In fact, the Varco 3D-based game production contest held on Aug. showed the applicability of Varco 3D to real production environments. The winning team generated 82% of all 3D assets with Varco 3D, and 38% of those were applied directly to the game without any separate post-processing. It demonstrated that even small teams with limited experience using professional 3D tools could secure high-quality assets.
Varco 3D can be joined and used without separate installation by verifying an email on the website, and it offers a variety of subscription plans. The free plan, which includes core features, provides 2,000 credits, enough to generate 10 3D assets, while the paid plan optimized for professional workflows includes expanded features such as simultaneous generation of five 3D assets and advanced remeshing that reconstructs a model's shape.
The Plus plan provides 10,000 credits for 22,000 won per month, and the Premium plan provides 75,000 credits for 165,000 won per month, allowing users to choose based on their needs. For both plans, during the early-bird event period, the credit deduction amount is applied at 50% of the list price.
