Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) and the Korea Institute of Information Security and Cryptology said on Dec. 1 that, together with the Ministry of Science and ICT, they will hold the "2025 cyber security policy forum workshop" on Dec. 4 at Ferrum Tower in Seoul under the theme "AI great transition era, directions for cyber security policy."
The workshop is being organized to seek policy directions with experts from industry, academia and research to respond to new cyber threats as AI-based digital transformation accelerates. The event will be run with a first session of keynote presentations and a second session of a panel discussion.
In the first session, there will be four presentations: ▲ "Zero trust expanding into all industrial sectors" by Professor Lee Seok-jun of Gachon University ▲ "The present and development trends of predictive policing" by Project Leader Kim Gun-woo of the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute ▲ "Plans to overhaul cyber security laws for the AI great transition era" by Chairman Lee Sang-jik of the Internet Law and Policy Forum ▲ "In the AI era, the changing profile of cyber security talent and the direction of education" by Professor Yoon In-soo of KAIST.
The second session will continue with a panel discussion focused on cyber security policy to protect the public and corporations from new cyber threats triggered by the spread of artificial intelligence technology. The discussion will be chaired by Korea Institute of Information Security and Cryptology President Park Young-ho, with Korea Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) Association President Lee Ki-joo, Internet Law and Policy Forum Chairman Lee Sang-jik, Korea Information Security Industry Association (KISIA) President Cho Young-cheul, and KAIST Professor Yoon In-soo participating as panelists.
The workshop is open free of charge to anyone interested in cyber security issues through advance registration, which is available until 12 p.m. on Dec. 3.
KISA President Lee Sang-jung said, "I hope this forum workshop will serve as a venue to explore effective cyber security policy directions needed in the age of artificial intelligence," adding, "Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) will work with industry and academia to strengthen the level of AI security and certification systems and improve the completeness of security policy research to help secure national security competitiveness."
