LG Display announced its "2026 regular executive appointments" on the 27th after board approval, promoting 13 people in total, including one senior vice president, two vice presidents, and 10 executive directors. The regular executive appointments take effect on Jan. 1 next year.
Choi Young-seok, head of LG Display's Production Technology Center, was promoted from vice president to senior vice president and appointed chief technology officer (CTO). The company recognized contributions to strengthening competitiveness by raising the completeness of performance-leading technologies. Choi will lead development of new display technologies with stronger business connectivity.
Park Sang-yoon, head of the SC Development Group, and Lee Tae-rim, head of Large Product Development 1, were each promoted from executive director to vice president. Park was credited for timely development of new small and mid-size organic light-emitting diode (OLED) technologies, while Lee was recognized for strengthening the competitiveness of large OLED products.
Regarding the appointments, LG Display said, "We have placed talented people who possess expertise and execution capabilities and who have demonstrated technology-innovation leadership, contributing to improved business performance."
LG Display recently ended a loss streak that had continued from 2022 through the first half of this year. The turnaround stemmed from increasing the production share of higher value-added products centered on OLED and pursuing strong cost improvements. In the third quarter, the company posted revenue of 6.957 trillion won and operating profit of 431 billion won.
