LG Innotek said on the 27th that its board approved executive promotions for 2026, elevating one person to president and newly appointing five senior vice presidents, for a total of six promotions.
An LG Innotek official said, "By selecting talent that has made major contributions to strengthening fundamental business competitiveness, we focused on solidifying a foundation for continued growth centered on profitability," and added, "We also placed emphasis on promoting young R&D talent who combine leadership in future-readiness with expertise."
Through this executive reshuffle, CEO Moon Hyuk-soo was promoted to president. Appointed as LG Innotek CEO in Dec. 2023, Moon focused on identifying future growth businesses for sustained growth and building a solid business portfolio. Moon has accelerated diverse future businesses where the company's core technologies can be broadly applied, ranging from semiconductor components led by automotive application processor (AP) modules and flip-chip ball grid arrays (FC-BGA), to Autonomous Driving sensing components including lidar and radar, and components for robots.
Previously, starting as head of optical solutions development in 2013 at LG Innotek, Moon served in key posts including head of the research center and head of the optical solutions business unit, playing a pivotal role in growing the optical solutions business to No. 1 globally. He then took the role of CSO in Dec. 2022 and led the reorganization of the business portfolio.
Along with this, LG Innotek newly appointed two senior vice presidents who delivered results in key R&D areas: Principal Engineer Moon Yeon-tae, who led a breakthrough improvement in Production yield of optical components using AI, and Principal Engineer Lee Kyung-tae, who has played a key role in the new Autonomous Driving business. In addition, Principal Engineer Nam Seung-hyun, who led the strengthening of competitiveness in the automotive power components business, Principal Engineer Jang Seung-woo, who contributed to improving quality competitiveness in optical solutions, and Principal Engineer Kim Jin-ho, who led the establishment of cooperative labor-management relations, were promoted to senior vice president.
Meanwhile, LG Innotek appointed Kyeong Eun-guk, accounting head (senior vice president) at LG Display, as CFO (executive vice president).
