Krafton said on the 27th that it unveiled a new project, "PUBG UNITED," which consolidates the global esports of "PUBG: Battlegrounds" and "PUBG Mobile" onto a single stage.
PUBG UNITED is a new attempt to link, under one vision, the console and PC-based "Battlegrounds" esports and mobile esports that had been operated separately. It will run from Nov. 24 to Dec. 14 in the Siam area of Bangkok, Thailand, and, for the first time in the world, will host the "PUBG Global Championship (PGC)" and the "PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC)" simultaneously on one stage.
The event will be held throughout downtown, including at Siam Paragon in central Bangkok, and will offer a variety of fan-participation content such as offline pop-up zones, fan events, and online promotions. Programs delivered via the official website and various digital channels will also be introduced so users around the world can participate regardless of region.
At the "PUBG UNITED Fanzone," which will operate during the event period, there will be experience spaces themed on the two tournaments, global brand collaboration content, and fan engagement events. Programs such as an official merchandise store, fan meetings, and a champions' wall will also be prepared so fans on site can directly enjoy and leave their mark.
The biggest highlight is the integrated finals, in which PGC and PMGC will be held back-to-back on the same stage. Top-tier players from both PC and mobile platforms will compete in the grand finals on the same stage, and a new kind of esports festival is expected to unfold, with fans of both titles cheering together. The opening ceremony will feature a large-scale production using the Battlegrounds universe, including an opening ceremony and a live performance of the official theme song.
A Krafton official said, "PUBG UNITED is the culmination of the fandom and know-how that PUBG esports has built over the past several years," adding, "We will offer an integrated esports experience that fans around the world can enjoy simultaneously on the same stage."
