Smilegate said on the 26th that, effective Jan. 1 next year, it will overhaul its management structure from the current "group" structure to an "integrated corporation" system.
The overhaul will merge three key entities—Smilegate Holdings, Smilegate Entertainment, and Smilegate RPG—into a single company. Smilegate said it is pushing the shift to an integrated corporate management system to respond more nimbly to the rapidly changing business environment, including global market shifts, technological transitions, and user trends, and to concentrate dispersed capabilities.
Seong Jun-ho, CEO of Smilegate Group, said, "Through this merger of entities, we have been able to build a foundation to move in one direction by rallying all capabilities and resources under a clear vision and business strategy," and added, "Going forward, Smilegate will continue to unearth mega value in the global entertainment market and grow into a powerhouse of global IP through innovation."
