FLO, a music streaming platform operated by Dreamus Company, said on the 24th that usage surged just two months after launching its "clean up playlist" feature.
"Clean up playlist" is a feature that helps users tidy up playlists that have accumulated by the dozens or hundreds of tracks at once. It automatically classifies accumulated playlists by four criteria — ▲ tracks never played ▲ duplicate tracks added ▲ tracks added today ▲ tracks not played for 30 days — allowing unnecessary tracks to be deleted at once.
FLO said it identified the subtle inconveniences customers feel as playlists become excessively stacked with dozens or hundreds of tracks, and introduced this feature to address them.
Analyzing user data from Sept. 3 to Nov. 3, FLO found that users who used the "clean up playlist" feature added tracks or playlists to their playlists about 75% more than nonusers. The average number of times the feature was used over two months by those users was 4.6, indicating a high preference for the feature.
Kang Seon-hee, leader of the FLO Service Team at Dreamus Company, said, "The 'clean up playlist' is a convenient feature that allows users to naturally reflect their tastes in their playlists," adding, "We will continue to provide easier personalized listening experiences through service updates for customers."
