LG Uplus said on the 23rd it will expand device support for its Smart Safety Diagnosis Service, which features enhanced security, to tablet PCs.
Smart Safety Diagnosis Service is an advanced version of the Real-time PC Remote Doctor released in 2018. The service, which had remotely diagnosed only PCs and laptops, has been expanded to provide security solutions tailored to each device, including tablet PCs.
PCs and laptops come with the Screen Defending security solution that protects the user's screen from external access. If a cyber intrusion is detected while a customer is using the device, hacking is immediately blocked remotely and a notification is sent. At that moment, the intruder's screen turns black upon detection to prevent the customer's personal information from being exposed. The service is available 24 hours a day, and users can set it to turn off during unwanted times.
For tablet PCs, installing the Smart Safety Diagnosis app allows remote diagnosis at the time the user wants. The company noted it is the first among carriers to offer real-time remote diagnosis as well as a reservation service. For customers using iPhones and iPads, remote guidance is provided so customers can diagnose in real time together with a specialist.
