SOOP said on the 21st that it will hold the "SOOP Star College League" final at 6 p.m. on Nov. 23 at the Sangam SOOP Colosseum. The league, which offered a total prize pool of 60 million won, drew 13 Star College crews and about 300 streamers.
In the final, C9 (Cheolgu) and K University (Kay) will face off in a best-of-nine, first-to-five format. The winner's prize is 40 million won, and the runner-up prize is 20 million won.
The "Star College League" pairs streamers who are former pro gamers with general streamers on the same team, with the pros serving as "president" or "professor" and coaching beginner streamers. Through a tier-based growth format, even StarCraft newcomers can take part.
The league launched in 2021 as "Skes–Star College" and has expanded in scale each season. Tiers were subdivided from four at the start to tiers 1 through 8 now, and the "Baby" tier for beginners and the "Joker," "King," and "Jack" tiers for former pros were added, increasing the diversity of match strategies.
This season featured a wider range of matchups through an expanded streamer lineup and team-centered strategic operations, and viewer interest was sustained throughout the season.
More details are available on streamer Cheolgu's channel page, and tickets for the final can be purchased on Ticketlink starting on the 21st.
