Samsung Electronics said on the 20th that it held the Samsung Tech Conference 2025 (STC 2025) online.
On this day, Samsung Electronics shared a wide range of results and visions, from innovative advanced technologies to commercialized technologies, under the theme of AX·AI Transformation, including AI agents, robot AI, next-generation security, and communications.
Jeon Kyung-hoon, chief technology officer (CTO) of the Device eXperience (DX) institutional sector at Samsung Electronics and head of Samsung Research (president), said in a welcome address that "AI has already become not a simple tool but the core driver that is transforming daily life and work in revolutionary ways," and "a new era of AI transformation has opened beyond digital transformation."
Through the keynote, Samsung Electronics introduced the four key technologies of the AI transformation era: AI-based next-generation security innovation, the evolution of intelligent software (SW) platforms, a leap in robot technology using AI, and the expansion of the open-source AI ecosystem.
In addition, Jim Zemlin, chair of the Linux Foundation, shared the latest trends in open-source AI technology.
In the technical sessions held after the keynote, about 60 Samsung Electronics researchers presented about 40 of the latest research outcomes applying AI to various fields such as communications, healthcare, security, and SmartThings.
Cases included AI automatic detection of voice phishing and malicious apps, AI-based high-definition restoration of classic videos, creating Galaxy Extended Reality (XR) content in 30 minutes, on-device audio eraser, and AI quality optimization for wireless communication base stations.
Meanwhile, Samsung Electronics also shared the AI security technology leadership of Samsung Research, which won the final at the AI Cyber Challenge (AIxCC), a global security technology competition hosted by the U.S. government on Aug. in the finals, as well as its future research direction.
Samsung Electronics plans to continue sharing diverse technological achievements and to work toward open technological collaboration and the expansion of the AI technology ecosystem.
