Samsung Electronics is understood to have begun the notification process for retiring executives. This has prompted views that the regular reshuffle of presidents is imminent.
According to the business community on the 20th, Samsung Electronics is said to have delivered retirement notices to some executives starting this morning. With notices going out, follow-up appointments are widely expected as early as on the 21st or early next week.
Some Samsung affiliates are also said to have conducted interviews and issued retirement notices. This is a routine step ahead of the presidents' reshuffle, after which a large-scale personnel move follows.
Typically, once new presidents are appointed, follow-up executive appointments to form a new organization around them were carried out within two or three days. Samsung Electronics announced presidents' appointments at the end of November in the past two years.
Earlier, on the 7th, Samsung Electronics reorganized the Business Support TF into the Business Support Office as a permanent body and appointed Park Hark-kyu as head of the Business Support Office. With the change in the head of the Business Support Office, some analysts suggested that this year's presidents' reshuffle could expand significantly.
