Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong left on the 17th to attend the Korea-UAE Business Round Table (BRT) to be held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on the 19th.
Lee arrived at the Seoul Gimpo Business Aviation Center (SGBAC) in Gangseo District, Seoul, at around 7:45 p.m. that day and departed for the UAE. He is attending the BRT hosted on the 19th by The Federation of Korean Industries and the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA).
This BRT follows up on the meeting between President Lee Jae-myung and UAE Crown Prince Khalid of Abu Dhabi during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit held in Gyeongju on the 31st. At the time, the two countries agreed in the meeting to expand cooperation in advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), in addition to defense, defense industry, investment and energy.
Based on these discussions, Samsung Electronics, SK, Hyundai Motor, LG Electronics, Hanwha and HD Hyundai are expected to discuss specific cooperation plans at the BRT.
Hyundai Motor Group Chairman Chung Eui-sun, Hanwha Group Vice Chairman Kim Dong-Kwan and LG Electronics Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Cho Joo-wan are also expected to attend the event. From SK, Ryu Young-sang, chairperson of the SK SUPEX Council AI Committee, will attend on behalf of Chairman Chey Tae-won.
