Rainbow Robotics said on the 17th that its AI quadruped robot RBQ series was selected for the "2025 Korea top 10 machinery technologies."
Korea top 10 machinery technologies is an event established to highlight the technological competitiveness and social value of the domestic machinery industry and to boost the pride of machinery engineers. It is hosted by the Korea Federation of Mechanical Engineering Societies, the Korea Association of Machinery Industry (KOAMI), the Korea Institute of Machinery & Materials (KIMM), the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology (KITECH), the Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI), and the Korea Railroad Research Institute (KRRI), with support from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
Rainbow Robotics' RBQ series selected this time is a high-mobility quadruped robot platform that can move stably even in rough and unstructured terrain. Its hallmark is the flexible switching between dynamics-based walking and reinforcement learning-based AI walking. The company said, "It can realize not only precise walking but also robust and dynamic movements," and noted, "It is possible to climb ramps and stairs using only AI walking without visual information."
The company cited as a strength that the robot can be customized to meet the requirements of various organizations, including defense, security, policing, and disaster response. Through on-site demonstration stages such as the rapid defense demonstration program, it is gradually expanding its scope of use.
