Okestro said on the 12th that it was selected as the preferred bidder for the "integrated local finance disaster recovery (DR) system construction project" led by the Korea Local Information Research & Development Institute.
The integrated local finance system is a core national information system that handles the full scope of fiscal operations for 243 local governments nationwide, from budgeting to execution and settlement, with about 450 trillion won executed through the system annually. As a result, stable operations and business continuity are essential.
The project is part of the "comprehensive plan to improve the administrative computing network" and aims to shift the disaster recovery framework of the integrated local finance system, a pan-government class 1 system, from an active-standby method to an active-active method. The total project size is 25 billion won, and a consortium led by ITCEN Entec will carry it out.
This is the first time AADR (Active-Active Disaster Recovery) has been applied to a public class 1 national information system, establishing an environment that synchronizes data in real time between the Sangam, Seoul main center and the Incheon DR center and enables automatic switchover in the event of a failure.
Okestro will be responsible for the overall cloud operations management framework for the main center and the DR center in this project. Based on the multi and Hybrid Cloud integrated management platform "Okestro CMP," it will integrate and operate IaaS (infrastructure as a service) and PaaS (platform as a service) resources in a single framework and support stable service operations by providing real-time monitoring, predictive analytics, and anomaly detection.
To implement AADR, simultaneous operation of each center and flexible switchover are essential, and Okestro CMP serves as a core solution supporting this real-time active-active operation.
Okestro is a leading domestic AI and cloud full-stack software company capable of building a real-time disaster recovery (DR) environment, and the company said it has independently secured the core technologies required for DR deployment, from server virtualization-based infrastructure operations to continuous data protection (CDP) technology and multi and Hybrid Cloud integrated management.
Kim Beom-jae, Okestro's CEO, said, "The integrated local finance system is the first case of AADR being applied in the public sector and will be an important turning point that enhances the stability and operational reliability of core national infrastructure," adding, "Based on CMP, we will continue to advance the public disaster recovery framework and build an artificial intelligence (AI) cloud environment."
