AhnLab said on the 12th that its Security Intelligence Center (ASEC) researchers' team "jUSTdOiT" won the grand prize in the problem-solving category at the Digital Forensic Challenge 2025 (DFC 2025), held at COEX Magok on the 11th.
DFC is an international competition in the field of digital forensics hosted by the National Intelligence Service and organized by the Korea Institute of Information Security and Cryptology (KIISC), held annually since 2018. Aimed at developing new digital forensics technologies and nurturing talent, it is conducted in two tracks: problem solving and technology proposal. This year, 444 teams from Korea and abroad registered, and 70 of them competed in the problem-solving category.
The "jUSTdOiT team" (Managers Kim Seung-hak, Kim Jun-seok, Song Tae-hyun, and Yun Do-hyun) took first overall by solving problems reflecting the latest technology trends, including incident analysis based on large language models (LLM) and the Model Context Protocol (MCP), iOS forensics, large-scale log analysis, and the scalable kernel tracing technology eBPF. In particular, the team demonstrated its technical prowess and analytical capability by presenting highly complete answers in AI-based analysis automation and evidence data correlation.
AhnLab ASEC Manager Yun Do-hyun, who participated in this competition, said, "Thanks to staying the course and collaborating closely with teammates I learned a lot from, we were able to achieve the valuable result of winning," and added, "We will take the time we spent grappling with and tackling high-difficulty problems as a chance to grow, and as a member of ASEC, I will continue to build deeper analytical capabilities."
