President Lee Jae-myung called T1's third straight victory at the League of Legends (LoL) World Championship (롤드컵) "a feat that will go down in esports history," and said he would actively support the development of the esports industry.
On the 10th, the president said on Facebook, "I extend my sincere congratulations to the T1 squad and all those involved for achieving the first-ever three-peat in 롤드컵 history," adding, "You once again proved the strength of an esports powerhouse by shining the name of the Republic of Korea on the global stage."
He said, "Your solid teamwork, mental strength that surpassed limits, and drive for victory deeply moved fans around the world," and emphasized, "We will actively support the development of cultural industries, including esports, so that players can freely pursue their dreams going forward."
The president added, "I pay tribute to T1's great run and cheer on the players who will write a new legend," and, "Though they narrowly finished as runners-up, I also applaud kt Rolster for delivering a great match to the end."
On the 9th, at the Dong'anhu Sports Park in Chengdu, China, T1 defeated KT 3-2 in the set score in the final of the 2025 롤드컵, becoming the first in the tournament's history to win three straight titles.
