SK Telecom will hold the customer-tailored special number lottery event "2025 Gold Number Promotion" starting on the 10th.
Gold numbers are numbers with specific patterns such as 1111, 0002, or 3000; numbers identical to the exchange code (ABCD-ABCD, ABAB-ABAB); or numbers with symbolic meanings such as 1004 or 1472. There are nine types of gold numbers available to enter this time, and each person can enter up to three.
SK Telecom has increased the number of gold numbers provided by annual lottery to 10,000 since 2023. According to the company, the most popular type is the "ABCD-ABCD" pattern, in which the exchange code and the last digits are symmetrical.
Both existing customers and those planning to sign up can participate, and applications can be made at SK Telecom authorized retailers nationwide or through the T Direct Shop. The application period runs from the 10th to the 23rd, and winners will be announced on the 27th.
The drawing will be conducted randomly under the supervision of the "Preferred Number Selection Committee," which includes the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Telecommunications Operators Association (KTOA). Winners will receive individual text notifications, and they must complete registration at a retailer or the T Direct Shop from Dec. 1 to 19.
Customers of budget phones (MVNO) that use the SK Telecom network can also enter a separate gold number drawing on each MVNO provider's website.
Gold numbers cannot be transferred to another person, and customers who are already using a gold number or have had the same record within the past year cannot enter.
