Nexon said on the 10th that it donated 100 million won from the special open event revenue of Maple Azit, a permanent PC cafe using the "MapleStory" intellectual property (IP), to the Seoul National University Hospital (SNUH) Nexon Children's Integrated Care Center Dotori House (hereafter Dotori House) in users' names.
The special open was an event held for 16 days from Oct. 18 to Nov. 2 to mark the official opening of Maple Azit. A total of 21 creators participated as part-time staff to communicate with users on site, and various hands-on programs were offered to users who visited after making a reservation. A joint live broadcast by the creators was also held simultaneously, allowing real-time interaction with online users.
Nexon gave meaning to this event as "a festival for all MapleStory users" and had decided in advance to donate the revenue generated during the event. Accordingly, it raised a total of 100 million won by adding Nexon's support funds to the donation amount calculated based on ticket and food-and-beverage sales and the cumulative views of the joint live broadcast, and delivered it to Dotori House in the name of MapleStory users.
Dotori House is the nation's first standalone short-term medical care center created through cooperation among the Nexon Foundation, the Ministry of Health and Welfare, and Seoul National University Hospital (SNUH). It integrates medical care, caregiving, and rest functions for children with severe illnesses who require 24-hour care and their families, easing the burden of caregiving and supporting time to recharge.
Dotori House Director Jeong Hye-rim said, "Since opening in 2023, we have maintained a good relationship with MapleStory," and added, "This donation will be a great help in providing more ample rest for the children and their families."
