Netmarble said on the 6th that "Seven Knights Re:Verse," a collectible role-playing game (RPG) released in May, expanded its intellectual property (IP) by inheriting the sensibilities of the original "Seven Knights" while building a new worldview, combat structure, and story.
The most notable change is technological evolution. Unlike the original, which was developed with an in-house engine, "Seven Knights Re:Verse" uses Unreal Engine 5 to enhance the vibrancy of graphical elements. The 2D skill cutscenes that symbolized the original are realized as high-quality 3D cinematics, increasing immersion in the ultimate skills of key heroes.
The game system has also been improved. While it inherits the original's auto turn-based format, it boosts both depth and convenience by clarifying turn order, strengthening strategic timing for skill use, and leveraging basic attacks. In addition, while maintaining the original's core "jjoljag (repeat battle system)," it introduces "offline play," which keeps battles going even when the game is closed, providing an idle play experience.
Also, "Seven Knights Re:Verse" does not simply recreate the existing story; it strengthens narrative immersion by keeping the core worldview while reorganizing it around a player-character structure. Unlike the original centered on Evan and Karin, this installment unfolds hidden narratives and mini-stories for each hero alongside a new adventurer. The company said this lets players enjoy the fun of a narrative RPG that explores and interprets the worldview, beyond merely collecting characters.

A Netmarble official said, " 'Seven Knights Re:Verse' is not a simple restoration but a completely different game, newly designed from the planning structure to the entire system," adding, "In line with the flow of the mobile RPG market, it will become the next benchmark of the 'Seven Knights' series, with technology, graphics, systems, and narrative all newly interpreted."
Earlier, "Seven Knights Re:Verse" topped the App Store revenue rankings just seven hours after its domestic launch and reached No. 1 in revenue across the two major domestic app markets in five days. It then stayed in the top tier of the app markets for three consecutive weeks. It went global in September, ranking No. 1 in revenue in Thailand and Hong Kong, and entered the top 100 in popularity in 26 countries and the top 100 in revenue in 45 countries, according to Sensor Tower.
