Alibaba Cloud said on the 4th that it was named a Leader in the container management institutional sector and the Cloud-Native application platform institutional sector in the 2025 Magic Quadrant, an annual industry-by-technology company evaluation report by global market research firm Gartner.
Alibaba Cloud said the recognition reflected its "continued innovation efforts to lead the digital transformation of global corporations." Jiangwei Jiang, vice president and head of infrastructure products at Alibaba Cloud Intelligence, said, "Being named a leader in two institutional sectors is the result of our steady efforts to meet rapidly changing corporate technology needs," adding, "We will help corporations adopt digital tools easily and effectively and push the boundaries of technological innovation."
Gartner said in the report that "Leaders offer services suitable for strategic adoption and are differentiated by a clear roadmap." Alibaba Cloud has secured high strategic flexibility with a comprehensive container portfolio spanning public, hybrid, and multicloud.
In particular, in the Cloud-Native application platform institutional sector, it received high marks for being fully equipped with modern capabilities that integrate developer productivity, AI, and Serverless Computing. Alibaba's Serverless App Engine (SAE), Function Compute, and Container Compute Service (ACS) support rapid building, deployment, and scaling of AI-based applications.
Gartner projected the market will grow more than 15% annually through 2029 and said Alibaba Cloud is optimally positioned to seize growth opportunities. At the Apsara Conference, Alibaba unveiled ACS with significantly improved auto-scaling capabilities, demonstrating technology that can scale up to 15,000 pods per minute.
