KRAFTON said on the 3rd that it has hired Park Jae-cheol, Deputy Minister, as chief safety management officer (CSMO).
KRAFTON said it carried out this appointment to build an advanced safety management system and to proactively manage safety risks that may arise in the operation of major businesses such as the Seongsu cluster transfer and esports.
CSMO Park Jae-cheol handled safety and environmental duties for about 20 years at Samsung affiliates, and later oversaw overall industrial safety and environmental management at Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co. (KHNP) and Mirae Asset Global Investments.
Deputy Minister Park will establish KRAFTON's companywide safety management strategy and oversee a preventive safety management system across major business areas such as the Seongsu cluster transfer and esports. In particular, during the Seongsu cluster transfer process, the plan is to preemptively block safety and health risks and create an environment where members can work safely.
KRAFTON will strengthen safety standards at every stage from business planning to operation through this appointment and introduce a system that allows immediate suspension when risks are identified. For large-scale offline events such as esports, it plans to standardize and operate a process that proceeds from preliminary risk assessment to on-site inspection and post-evaluation.
Through this, the company plans to establish a governance foundation that can manage risks in advance at each business stage and continuously strengthen the organization's overall safety management level to meet global standards.
