Samsung Electronics said on the 31st it received the top rating for the 14th consecutive year in the "2024 the Shared Growth Index evaluation," becoming the first domestic corporations to do so.
The the Shared Growth Index evaluation is an indicator that, since 2011, the Korea Commission for Corporate Partnership has used annually to assess each corporations' level of shared growth to promote win-win cooperation between large companies and small and midsize enterprises.
The Korea Commission for Corporate Partnership said, "Samsung Electronics is carrying out a variety of win-win cooperation activities based on pursuing mutual growth and management by the book, and is expanding support not only to first-tier partners but also to second- and third-tier partners and even to small and midsize enterprises with no transactions."
Since 2009, Samsung Electronics has hosted an "excellent technology briefing" introducing outstanding technologies held by domestic universities, research institutes, and corporations, supporting partner companies in discovering future growth engines and securing new technologies.
In 2013, together with the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, it created a "co-investment type technology development project" fund and provided 20 billion won in support, and in 2022, it secured an additional 30 billion won in a new fund to support next-generation technology development through 2026.
Samsung Electronics also, to strengthen the competitiveness of small and midsize enterprises, gratuitously transferred a total of about 2,300 patents from 2015 through last year even to small and midsize enterprises with no transaction.
Samsung Electronics is also supporting partner companies' innovation activities in areas such as technology, manufacturing and quality, and cost competitiveness.
In 2013, it established the "win-win cooperation academy consulting center," composed of experts in technology, manufacturing, and quality, and it is also running customized workforce training programs for partner companies.
Also, since 2015 it has operated a program supporting the construction of customized smart factories to drive manufacturing innovation for small and midsize enterprises, and to date it has supported smart factory construction at about 3,600 SMEs nationwide.
In addition, it is carrying out win-win cooperation programs focused on youth education, such as Samsung Youth SW·AI Academy, Samsung Hope Stepping Stone, and Samsung Dream Class, as well as the Samsung guide dog program, Samsung multicultural youth support program, and Samsung senior digital education program.
