Kakao said on the 30th that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with SK Speedmate for vehicle management based on the artificial intelligence (AI) agent application "Kanana."
At the signing ceremony held the previous afternoon at Kakao's Pangyo Agit, An Mu-in, CEO of SK Speedmate, and Kim Jong-han, performance leader for Kakao Kanana, attended. The two companies agreed to cooperate on online-offline linkage and the discovery of service models to innovate customers' vehicle management experiences through AI.
Under the agreement, Kakao will add a vehicle maintenance–related special AI mate within the Kanana application (app) next month to provide vehicle-based personalized information, maintenance estimates, and reservations. When users enter information about the vehicle and its symptoms, the service will guide them through causes and solutions, and it can also handle repair shop reservations, changes, and cancellations. Through this, the company plans to enhance convenience in vehicle management and expand connections with repair shops to address AI blind spots and pursue mutually beneficial cooperation.
In addition, by linking Kanana with Speedmate and leveraging accumulated maintenance data, the companies plan to deliver a seamless, boundaryless user experience that smoothly connects recommendations for vehicle-related products such as engine oil and tires to store reservations.
