Kakao Mobility said on the 29th that it has overhauled the user interface (UI) of the Kakao T app. The revamp allows users to explore a variety of mobility services more easily according to situation, preference, and usage context.
The improved home screen is organized to show Kakao T's major mobility services at a glance, including taxi, designated driver, navigation, train, and air. Instead of simply listing functions as before, it adds situation-specific tabs such as "when moving," "when driving," "when sending a package," and "when going overseas," so users can immediately choose tailored services when needed.
A new "My catalog" area has also been introduced, where users can directly edit and pin frequently used services. Frequently used taxi or designated driver services are automatically placed at the top, and users can pin desired iKONs as favorites.
A "recommended cards" feature has been added to provide tailored mobility information based on context such as usage patterns, reservation status, location, and access time. For example, when a train departure time is approaching, users may receive real-time guidance such as "If you take a taxi now, you can arrive 10 minutes before departure."
Ryu Geung-seon, head of Kakao Mobility, said, "Kakao T has evolved into a platform that covers the entire journey," adding, "This home screen revamp is a measure to help users more easily discover and utilize mobility services suited to their situation."
The new Kakao T app UI will be rolled out as an update in stages through Google Play and the Apple App Store starting on the 29th.
