LG Uplus said on the 29th that it developed an artificial intelligence (AI) model with Kyunghee University that identifies the characteristics of the areas where network traffic data occurred.
The study was conducted to build an automated system in which AI quickly determines and stores the regional characteristics of network traffic data that people had judged and classified.
When network traffic data is entered, the developed AI model derives characteristics such as where it occurred, the share of indoor versus outdoor traffic, and what time frames see heavy usage.
In areas with distinct features, such as apartment complexes or subways, it showed an accuracy of about 90% or higher.
LG Uplus expects to use the model to improve the management expense and energy efficiency of its nationwide network.
