Wiseapp Retail said on the 28th that the most used web browser–only app among Koreans is Google Chrome.
According to the survey, as of last month Google Chrome's monthly active users (MAU) stood at 42.64 million, and about 83% of Korea's 51.22 million smartphone users use it, it was found.
Next were ▲ Brave, 1.75 million ▲ Whale, 1.2 million ▲ Microsoft Edge, 580,000 ▲ Firefox, 310,000 ▲ Opera, 220,000.
The browser app with the highest growth rate over the past year was "Brave," with monthly users up 86%. It was followed by ▲ Microsoft Edge (16%) ▲ Google Chrome (3%).
Wiseapp Retail conducted the survey based on a sample of Korean Android and iOS smartphone users, and default preinstalled browser apps on smartphones were excluded from those surveyed.
