Dassault Systèmes said on the 27th that it officially won a project, the first in Korea, to link LCA (life cycle assessment) and DPP (digital product passport) with Cofinity X in collaboration with bio-material Start - Up Mycel (Mycel).
This project is the first case in which Korean corporations have adopted LCA, DPP, and sustainability in an integrated way, and it is significant in that Dassault Systèmes participated as a leading technology partner and built a data collaboration system based on international standards.
LCA is a method of calculating and managing greenhouse gas emissions throughout the product life cycle, and DPP is a system that manages information on export products in the form of a digital passport. The European Union (EU) is implementing the carbon border adjustment mechanism (CBAM) and the DPP system to strengthen supply chain data transparency, making LCA and DPP responses by materials corporations an essential requirement in the global market.
Through this contract, Mycel will issue LCA and DPP data on a monthly basis and establish a system that directly links to the Cofinity X data space. This is the first case of a Korean corporation being connected to the official European LCA and DPP network.
Dassault Systèmes implemented the service in cooperation with Tressworks, which handled data collection and analysis and international standard certification throughout the project, and IBCT, which handled system integration and global linkage.
